Change your Search Engine in Internet Explorer

On every Windows version, Microsoft always using their search engine as their default search engine. But, mostly people prefer to using other search engine like Google or Yahoo! search.

On Windows vista, the option search engine offering default on right side up window. Just like in Mozilla Firefox.

Meanwhile in Windows XP, users cannot see the option to change search engine on Internet Option, so usualy they write directly search engine address manualy or make it as a homepage.

Now, you dont have to do that manualy again, because you can edit the registry and create your favorite search engine into standart search engine. This is how:

1. Go to Registry editor
2. Then go to key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main
3. Find string value with mane Search Page, then change it the value data with http://www.google.com for the Google search engine and http://rd.companion.yahoo.com/slv/ycheck/as/*http://www.yahoo.com for Yahoo! or you can create you prefer
4. Click twice on the Search bar then fill data value with http://www.google.com/ie for Google or http://rd.companion.yahoo.com/slv/ycheck/as/*http://www.yahoo.com untuk Yahoo!.
5. From subkey main, then go to key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\SearchURL
6. Then change default data with http://www.google.com/keyword/%s for the Google search engine and http://rd.companion.yahoo.com/slv/ycheck/as/*http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=%s for Yahoo!
7. Now go to key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search
8. On that key, double click string value SearchAssistant then fill value data with http://www.google.com/ie
9. You’re done!
